Title Tag

When creating a web page to make it search engine friendly you need to add a title tag. The title tag should contain the important keywords for which you page should be displayed by the search engine. Don't spam by adding too many keywords, just add the once the user will search for.

If the searched keyword and the title of the page matches exactly then the search engines tend to rank them higher. So keep your title focused. To keep your title focused you need to keep your content focused.

The title of the page will be used for displaying the heading of the page in the search results. So your title should be precise and attractive.

Lets see with an example

Here the title is repeated twice. There are only six key words in the title and four of them are repeated. When the searched keyword is found more than once in the title, then the page gets a better spot in the search result.

Lets now search for "Struts 2 bean tag example"

As you can see our page gets listed on the top of all the other results, this is because the title of the page matches exactly with the searched keywords. To get ranked higher you can repeat the keyword once but don't spam.

Just see the third result the title says "Struts 2 Tags", it is also relevant because Bean tag is a part of Struts 2 tags, but if your content is focused you will rank better for that specific keyword.
